Online advertising spending projections still looking positive

  • eMarketers latest projections, released in August, saw online advertising growing from $24.5 billion in 2008 to $28.5 billion in 2009. Of course, a whole lot happened in the past 8 weeks.
  • For the first half of 2008, the IAB reported 15.2%

Without going into tone polarity, "online advertising"'s share of voice, i.e. social media conversation volume, seems to be losing a bit of traction, though. Measuring online sentiment turned out to be a pretty good proxy predictor when comparing Facebook versus Myspace or Obama versus Clinton long before a clear winner was apparent in traffic measurements and more formal opinion pools.
